At Huntingdonshire Regional College we want to make sure you are ready for whatever your future brings. Our range of courses will give you the skills and qualifications you need for your next steps, whether that is the perfect job or a university course.

We offer vocational qualifications that focus on practical, hands-on learning. You will study one subject and learn the skills needed to develop a career in your chosen industry. Our full-time courses are usually 3-4 days a week, which allows plenty of time for independent study and a bit of free time.

We run a FREE College bus service for all full-time students and our Employment Scheme allows you to learn to drive with Red Driving School for only £12 per hour (£19 per hour for apprentices, part-time and 19+ learners) and gain important skills employers look for.

At Huntingdonshire Regional College you can study at a variety of levels to suit your existing skills and ability. If you successfully complete your GCSE’s, dependent on individual course requirements, you will be able to apply for a Level 2 or 3 course. We also offer Level 1 courses that do not require any formal qualifications.

Did you know with a level 3 qualification you can go onto University? That’s right, with a BTEC Level 3 qualification you can gain up to 420 UCAS points – equivalent to 3 A Levels at A* grade.

We understand the importance of gaining English and maths qualifications – so if, for whatever reason, you did not pass your English or maths GCSE you will automatically be enrolled onto our Functional Skills programme, this will sit alongside your main course to ensure you receive qualifications in English and maths.

If you would like some individual advice on the right starting level for you please call us on 01480 379106 or email college@huntingdon.ac.uk.

We offer a wide range Apprenticeships.

Apprenticeships take the you out of the classroom and into the work place. As an apprentice you will earn while you learn, gain the right skills and work towards a nationally recognised qualification.

Why not take a look at some of our current Apprenticeship vacancies? We are continually updating our vacancies so keep checking back to find the right one for you. Alternatively if you are interested in becoming an Apprentice register your interest and we will contact you when a suitable apprenticeship becomes available.

College allows you to become more independent, preparing you for your next steps. The College day is slightly longer than a normal school day, 9am – 5pm. However, lessons do not always last the whole day and you may not need to come into College every day of the week. A full-time course is typically 3-4 days a week allowing you a few days for independent study.

Huntingdonshire Regional College has recently undergone a £3 million refurbishment, which was finished in November 2011. The whole front of the College was re-designed and we have improved many of the facilities for students including additional classrooms, a new break out area and refurbished canteen.

We are not stopping there though! During summer 2012 we started work on our new construction facility which opened in January 2013, we introduced a Starbucks to the canteen and refurbished the majority of our classrooms. Take a look at some of the changes that have happened over the years on our College Development page.

And have you heard about our Employment Scheme where we are offering all 16-18 full-time learners half price DRIVING LESSONS and our FREE College bus?

Come and find out more at one of our Open Days!

Once you have found the right course for you, you will need to submit an application form. If you are currently in year 11 and studying at a Cambridgeshire school you will need to apply through UCAS Progress. Your school will provide you with login details and can help with the application.

If you do not attend a Cambridgeshire secondary school you will need to fill out our Application Form and send it back to us.
