The Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations of 1981 require employers to provide personnel to enable First Aid to be given to employees if they are injured or become ill at work.
What qualifications do you need to join
An interest in the subject and the desire to use the knowledge and training for your personal reassurance or as a workplace qualification. A standard of general education and competence that will enable you to benefit from and succeed on the course.
What will you study
A range of First Aid competencies needed in any workplace. On completion of training, you will have the ability to: * act safely, promptly and effectively when a First Aid emergency occurs at work * administer cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
How will you be assessed
Continual assessments by the tutor during classroom activities Multiple choice written paper Practical assessment to demonstrate skills in CPR and care of the unconscious casualty Practical assessment - incident, injury or bleeding management
