This training will be structured to cater for Senior Managers/Directors, who are interested in reading and understanding internal & external financial reports. External financial reports consist of a profit & loss account and a balance sheet.
What will you study
Course content: * Background to finance including setting the scene * Legal structures of businesses and the impact on raising finance * Types of business organisation: sole trader, partnerships, but particularly focussing on limited companies * Differences between short, medium and long-term capital * The financial reports * Profit & loss account, appropriation account and balance sheet * Financial Measures of business performance * Calculation and interpretation of accounting ratios Understanding Financial Reports might also include reading internal reports: * Budgetary control report * Compiling or reading budget reports, forecasting an outturn for year end * Capital Investment Appraisal * Making investment decisions regarding purchasing new assets etc
