Is this course for you?
This course is designed to equip learners with knowledge needed to care for others in a broad range of health & social care settings. Learners can select a pathway that suits their role-for example, working with people with learning disabilities; working with people with dementia. These are recognised qualifications for care workers and senior care workers in health and social care. They are run as a ‘roll on roll off’ programme allowing individuals to access at any point throughout the year.
What will you study?
The apprenticeship consists of the following qualifications: • Employment Rights & Responsibilities & Personal Learning Skills (depending on pathway) • Functional Skills in English & Maths Level 1 or 2 • Diploma in Health & Social Care Level 2 or 3
What qualifications to you need to join?
There are no formal entry requirements, however, candidates must work in an appropriate setting to complete the qualification and be able to achieve a level 1 or 2 Functional Skills in Maths and English.
How will you be assessed?
Learners will be allocated an assessor to support and guide you through the apprenticeship. You will be required to take examinations for your Functional Skills; complete assignments and compile an e-portfolio of evidence demonstrating your competency, which may include projects; assignments; written questions; witness statements; direct observations.
What can you do after the course?
Promotional opportunities may arise; study a level 4 or level 5. Progress to enable access to nurse training.
