What will you study?

A programme designed for those working in the adult Health and Social Care environment. It provides knowledge and skills training for dealing with a range of clients. At NVQ Level 2 you will be assessed in 10 units including the 2 mandatory units chosen from the summarised list below. The other 8 units will be chosen by you with your assessor: * Communication& records * Support, Health and safety * Develop your knowledge and practice * Protection & well-being of individuals

What qualifications to you need to join?

No formal qualifications required, however, candidates should possess a reasonable grasp of numeracy, reading and writing and be in an appropriate job role to complete the NVQ.

How will you be assessed?

Learners will be allocated an assessor to support and guide you throughout the course. You will be required to take examinations for functional skills, submit assignments as guided by your assessor and build a portfolio of evidence demonstrating your competency. This may be through observation, questioning, independent study or professional discussion.

What can you do after the course?

Register as a carer or, progress to NVQ Care Level 3 if you are in a supervisory or senior carer position. You could also progress to Assessors Award if you are in a supervisory or senior carer position
