Supported Learning

We offer a range of courses for learners with learning difficulties and/or disabilities that support and develop independent living skills and work skills.

Our courses allow individuals to discover their full potential in a safe and inspiring environment. Learners are excellently supported by well qualified and experienced staff to develop interests in a variety of vocational subjects. It is through creative enterprise projects and embedded basic skills (maths, English and Personal/Social Development) that learners acquire the necessary employability skills to prepare them for the world of work.

Teaching staff create individual programmes for each learner to ensure they are offered all the support they need to progress at a pace that is appropriate for each individual. Regular reviews and communication with home and specialist services ensure each learner is successful in completing their course.

Alongside the programme of learning are a variety of enrichment activities that are chosen to develop confidence, communication and team work. Many of the activities allow learners the opportunity to safely participate in activities they perhaps wouldn’t have thought feasible.

For those learners who gain the appropriate level of confidence and skills, our experienced Job Coach will coordinate and support opportunities to participate in real work experience in the locality.
