Music School

Initially known as the Huntingdon Music and Arts Society, the Huntingdonshire Music School (HuMS) became a permanent fixture within Huntingdon Technical College (Huntingdonshire Regional College) in the Autumn of 1966.

Starting with only a handful of students, the original Musical Director, Ray Salt, strove for musical excellence. A policy which is still in force today.

Almost half a century on and the handful of students have increased to hundreds, with ages ranging from 5 to 80.

A team of professional music tutors, provide students with excellent quality individual and group tuition both during the week and throughout the Music School's infamous Saturday morning school.

HuMS holds a full calendar of events, which ensures that every one of our students has the opportunity available to them, to perform in public at least once a year.

For many past students, HUMS has provided a useful starting point for a musical career and/or the opportunity to learn and perform in a friendly, relaxed and fun environment.

HuMS is proud and privileged to be part of the education provision at Huntingdonshire Regional College.
